Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Cat Eye Top Coat and Cat Eye Gel Polish?
Cat Eye Gel Polish is a full-color polish — it provides the color and the cat eye effect in one product. Cat Eye Top Coat is a clear-to-translucent gel applied over any existing gel polish color to add the cat eye effect on top. Ideal for creating cat eye nails on colors that don’t come in a cat eye formula.
What is Cat Eye Flash Top and how is it different from the standard version?
Cat Eye Flash Top creates a more intense, high-contrast cat eye streak — sharper and brighter than the standard Cat Eye Top. It is recommended for clients who want a more dramatic, statement cat eye nail effect.
Do I still need a magnet with Cat Eye Top Coat?
Yes. The same application process applies — apply the top coat, hold a nail magnet over the nail before curing, then cure immediately after the effect sets.
What gel polish colors work best under Cat Eye Top Coat?
Dark backgrounds — black, deep navy, dark green, and rich plum — show the cat eye light streak most dramatically. For a softer effect, try it over dark burgundy or espresso gel polish.
Can I apply cat eye top coat over gel nail extensions?
Yes. The Cat Eye Top Coat works on natural nails, hard gel extensions, acrygel, and builder gel overlays. The magnetic effect works the same on any cured surface.
How long does a cat eye top coat manicure last?
Sealed correctly, a cat eye top coat manicure lasts 3–4 weeks. The magnetic effect holds throughout the full wear period.
