GLOSS Builder Gel is a professional, medium-viscosity gel built for sculpted extensions, structural overlays and apex correction. The pot format gives you full control over thickness — pick up only what you need and shape with a builder brush for clean, even results.

Available in 26 shades — from clear and nude pink to warm peach and cover shades — our builder gel works for natural-look overlays, French extensions, and reinforced gel polish manicures. Cures evenly under any standard UV/LED lamp without yellowing or heat-spike.

How to Use

  1. Prep with GLOSS dehydrator and primer; apply a thin rubber base layer and cure for 60 seconds.
  2. Pick up a small bead with your builder brush. Place at the apex zone and self-level over the nail.
  3. Cure for 60–90 seconds depending on layer thickness.
  4. File and shape, then top with gel polish or top coat.

Frequently asked questions

What is builder gel used for?

GLOSS Builder Gel is used for sculpted nail extensions over nail forms, structural overlays that add thickness and strength to natural nails, apex correction, and reinforced gel polish manicures where the client needs extra durability. It is a medium-viscosity gel that holds its shape during application and cures to a strong, flexible finish.

Pot or brush bottle — which builder gel format should I choose?

The Builder Gel Pot uses a separate brush for application, giving you more control over product placement — preferred by techs who sculpt extensions frequently. The Builder Gel Brush Bottle has an integrated brush for faster, one-handed application — popular for structured overlays and clients who want added strength on natural nails without full extensions.

How many shades is builder gel available in?

GLOSS Builder Gel (pot format) is available in 26 shades including White, Nude Pink, Peach, Caramel, Coconut, and more. The Brush Bottle range includes 16 tinted shades.

Does builder gel cause heat spike during curing?

GLOSS Builder Gel is formulated to minimize heat spike. To avoid discomfort, always apply in thin layers and cure each layer individually. If a client has thin or sensitive nails, use the pulse-cure technique: cure in 5-second intervals to allow heat to dissipate before continuing.

What is the cure time for builder gel?

GLOSS Builder Gel cures in 60–120 seconds under a 48W LED lamp, depending on layer thickness. Apply thin layers and cure each one individually for best results. Use the GLOSS 46W UV/LED Lamp for guaranteed results across all GLOSS formulas.

Can I file and shape builder gel after curing?

Yes. Once fully cured, GLOSS Builder Gel can be filed and shaped with a medium-grit nail file (100/150 grit) before applying gel polish color. Always finish with a gel top coat for maximum shine and durability.

Is builder gel the same as rubber base?

No. Rubber base is a flexible base coat designed to go under gel polish on natural nails. Builder gel is a structurally stronger formula specifically for building length or adding significant thickness. Builder gel can be used as an overlay base for very damaged nails, but rubber base is the better choice for most regular gel polish services.
