Frequently asked questions
How does glow in the dark gel polish work?
GLOSS Glow in the Dark Gel Polish contains photoluminescent pigments that absorb light energy (from sunlight, UV lamps, or bright indoor lighting) and slowly release it as a visible glow in darker conditions. The brighter and longer the charging light exposure, the more intense and longer-lasting the glow.
How long does the glow last after charging?
After approximately 10–15 minutes of bright light exposure, the glow is visible in darkness for 15–30 minutes in most conditions. The glow gradually fades and then recharges when exposed to light again.
Does glow in the dark gel look normal in daylight?
Yes. In normal daylight or bright salon lighting, GLOSS Glow in the Dark Gel Polish appears as a vivid neon color. The glow effect is only visible in dim or dark conditions — making it a fun and unexpected surprise for clients.
Does the thermal effect wear off over time?
The photoluminescent effect is stable throughout the full wear period (3–4 weeks). The glow works as well on day 21 as it does on day one — the pigments do not fade or degrade from normal salon wear.
Is glow in the dark gel polish safe for clients?
Yes. The photoluminescent pigments in GLOSS Glow in the Dark Gel Polish are non-toxic and safe for professional nail use. They do not contain radioactive materials or phosphorus compounds that are hazardous in cosmetic formulas.
Do I need a UV lamp to cure glow in the dark gel polish?
Yes. Like all GLOSS gel polishes, the Glow in the Dark shades require curing under a UV/LED lamp. Cure for 60 seconds under a 48W LED lamp. The UV curing process does not affect the glow properties.
