Cat Eye Gel Polish by GLOSS creates the iconic moving-light effect that clients keep asking for. Highly pigmented, easy to magnet, and finished with a single sweep — get that 3D-5D depth in seconds.

Available in 15 shades — from metallized gold and soft gold to turquoise, plum, and deep concentrated tones. Each shade contains finely milled magnetic particles that respond to a strong magnet, creating a smooth or starburst light effect depending on the technique.

How to Use

  1. Apply rubber base and cure 60 seconds.
  2. Apply a thin first layer of cat eye gel polish. Cure 30 seconds.
  3. Apply a second, slightly thicker layer. Before curing, hold a strong magnet 2–3 mm above the nail for 5–7 seconds.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create the cat eye effect with GLOSS Cat Eye Gel Polish?

Apply one thin coat of Cat Eye gel polish over cured base coat. Before curing, hold a nail magnet over the nail (without touching the surface) for 5–10 seconds. The magnet will pull the metallic particles into a streak pattern. Cure immediately after magnetizing. Repeat for the second coat for more depth, magnetizing each coat before curing.

Do I need a special magnet to use cat eye gel polish?

Yes. Cat Eye gel polish only works with a strong nail magnet. A standard flat magnet or fridge magnet will not create the effect. Use a professional nail magnet — GLOSS recommends a dual-sided magnet with both a line and a dot tip for different cat eye patterns.

How many cat eye shades does GLOSS offer?

GLOSS Cat Eye Gel Polish is available in 15 shades — including gold tones, blue turquoise, and jewel-toned hues. GLOSS also offers Cat Eye Top Coat, which creates a cat eye effect over any existing gel polish color.

What is the cure time for cat eye gel polish?

Cure each coat for 60 seconds under a 48W LED lamp immediately after magnetizing. Do not delay curing once the magnet effect is set — the particles will drift back if the polish stays uncured.

What is the difference between Cat Eye Gel Polish and Cat Eye Top Coat?

Cat Eye Gel Polish is a full-color polish — it provides the color and the cat eye effect in one product. The Cat Eye Top Coat creates a cat eye effect over any existing gel polish color — perfect for adding the effect to a shade that isn’t sold in a cat eye formula.

Can I use cat eye gel polish on nail extensions?

Yes. Cat Eye Gel Polish works on natural nails, hard gel extensions, acrygel, and builder gel overlays. The magnetic effect works the same on any cured base surface.

How do I get the 5D depth effect?

Apply one thin layer of black or very dark gel polish under the cat eye for richer, deeper streaks — this is the technique behind the viral 5D sets. Then apply two magnetized coats of Cat Eye Gel Polish on top, curing each individually.
